Mardi Gras Season in Talladega Was Officially On
On February 5, from 5 to 8 PM, Talladega stepped into splendor for Visit with Royalty, an unforgettable Mardi Gras celebration held at the historic Heritage Hall Museum in collaboration with the legendary Mobile Carnival Museum. 🎭👑
For one radiant evening, history and pageantry met beneath chandeliers and crown moldings. The result was pure Southern majesty.
A Royal Collaboration
The partnership brought Mobile’s deep Carnival legacy straight to Talladega. Through regalia, artifacts, and storytelling, guests experienced the grandeur of Mardi Gras royalty without ever leaving town. Ornate crowns shimmered. Velvet trains cascaded. Beaded traditions sparkled under gallery lights.
The evening was more than a showcase. It was a bridge between two historic Alabama communities connected by culture, celebration, and artistic excellence.
Where Art, History, and Community Converged
The event was supported by Talladega Main Street, the City of Talladega Government, the Greater Talladega and Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Alabama State Council on the Arts, reflecting a powerful commitment to preserving and celebrating the arts.
Creative luminaries including Sondra Carlisle, Sundi Hawkins, J.C. Morgan, and Valerie White enriched the evening with their presence and artistic spirit. Guests mingled among masterpieces, exchanged stories, and basked in the glow of a season steeped in tradition.
The Exhibit Continues
Though the February 5 celebration has passed, the experience is far from over. The exhibit will continue until February 27, 2026.
The video exhibit walk is here, inviting you to step deeper into Mardi Gras history and witness the pageantry that has defined Alabama’s Carnival tradition for generations. The screen still flickers with color. The crowns still gleam. The story continues to unfold for all who enter.
Talladega in Full Regalia
Mardi Gras season in Talladega did not arrive quietly. It arrived crowned.
Visit with Royalty proved that heritage is not static. It breathes, glitters, and gathers people together. In the elegant rooms of Heritage Hall, Talladega honored both its own cultural heartbeat and the grandeur of Mobile’s Carnival legacy.
Purple. Green. Gold.
The season is here. And royalty? It felt right at home. 👑💜💚💛
