Gee's Bend Quilters Workshop - Explodes with Color

Heritage Hall hosted a Gee’s Bend hands-on quilting workshop on February 17 and 18, 2023. Ms Mary Ann Pettway, Head of the Gee’s Bend Quilters Collective and Ms China Pettway, hosted the workshop.

Thank you to everyone who came out! We had a great turnout with this one of a kind quilting experience where Mary Ann Pettway and China Pettway sang and taught about their work and what their experiences have meant to them. They gave us a two day celebration of warmth and color as we begin a new year of exhibits aiming to bring the community together.

Participants from the regional area attended the workshop. The workshop was subsidized in part by the Heritage Hall Arts Enrichment fund, which is supported by income from the holiday market and donations to the museum.
