Art in the Schools 2021|2022

Heritage Hall Museum has provided Arts Enrichment programs to Talladega City Schools for over 20 years. The 2021/2022 program is sponsored by the Jemison Carnegie Foundation and through a federal grant awarded to Talladega City Schools. The partnership with our sponsors allows Heritage Hall Art teachers to expand visual arts instruction to all four Talladega City Elementary schools across fourth, fifth and six grades. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the teachers are creating instructional art lessons on video and each child has received their own art supply kit.

This year Talladega City School 4th-6th grade students will be provided with art kits and lessons! Approximately 500 kids will create and DO ART through this program.

As Covid-19 restrictions ease, the goal is to move into a hybrid program delivery, with teachers providing in school art instruction alongside continuing to build the Art instruction video library.

The annual KidsART exhibit in the summer of 2022 culminates this year’s program with a selection of the children's art created during the school year. The program has included variety of disciplines, such as visual art instruction, theatre, dance, music appreciation and creative writing. Visit the 2021 KidsArt Exhibit.
