Cathy Thornton has been painting a little over twenty years. She began painting in watercolor at Heritage Hall under the instruction of Tommy Moorehead.
She later took some workshops with Russell Everett and Wayne Spradley and classes at Heritage Hall with Dr Art Bacon. Eventually, Cathy found her love of painting with oils. She paints many subject matters, but generally enjoyes beach scenes and landscapes. She enjoys painting those places she likes to be.
Over her years of working with Tommy Moorehead, he told her she would eventually develop her own style. He later described her paintins as “dreamy and out of focus.
