Catherine Smith

Catherine Smith is a long time Talladega resident.

She started painting in oils under the tutelage of Sarah Whitson. After her retirement from a 31 year teaching career, she had time to enjoy painting with the group known as “Sarah’s Girls”

Later, she studied with Tommy Moorehead, during his time as Artist in Residence and Director of Heritage Hall Museum and Art Center.

Her favorite paintings are inspired by the photos her husband, Phil, took, during their vacation trips. She has kept her paintings primarily within her family and we are fortunate to have some selected pieces loaned to us for the Local Artists: Past and Present at Heritage Hall Museum, January 2021.
