Mari worked & volunteered for national area non-profit health and community organizations. You probably met her in one of her roles representing March of Dimes, United Cerebral Palsy, Spirit of Anniston, & The Opportunity Center.

In 2014, Mari began working with stained glass mosaics on glass, ‘gog mosaic’, and fused glass (kiln fired) pieces. Stained Glass Mosaic, similar to stained glass, however no lead is used, instead glue is used to adhere stained glass pieces to a substrate, glass, then grout is used in-between glass (similar to tiling) and then Mari seals each piece depending on its’ final destination. Each fused glass piece begins as a flat sheet of translucent clear or opaque glass, which is then transformed by adding more glass in various forms to create the end result ie; bowl, vase, plate, votive, hanger, suncatcher, etc. Each piece will be fired numerous times to obtain the final desire effect.

You may view & purchase Mari’s original glass pieces at Nunnally’s Noble Frame & Gallery, 1014 Noble St., in Historic Downtown Anniston, AL 256-236-9790 and you may also contact Mari, 256-225-0420, & visit her work shop & studio in Golden Springs, AL. mgcglassfusion on Facebook .
