Heritage Hall Bacon Tribute Collection 2024

The Sense of Place explores Talladega’s rich history, offering insight into the events, people, and places that have shaped the community. Through photographs, artifacts, and archival materials, the exhibit captures Talladega’s spirit from its earliest days through periods of change and growth.

Now, the Heritage Hall Museum is expanding the story with a new series of oral history interviews featuring local residents, educators, artists, and community leaders. These personal stories preserve Talladega’s cultural heritage and bring its history to life.

By collecting these voices, the museum helps ensure future generations connect with the experiences and values that define this unique sense of place.

You are invited to experience the inspiring 2026 Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama, on display March 9–27 at the Heritage Hall Museum & Art Center in Talladega.

This remarkable exhibition celebrates the creativity and talent of young artists from the Alabama School for the Blind, Helen Keller School, and schools across the state.

Through bold color, rich texture, and imaginative expression, these students share their perspectives while navigating vision impairments. Each work of art reminds visitors that creativity has no limits and that art can be experienced in many ways beyond sight.

The public is especially invited to attend the Opening Reception and Awards Presentation on Wednesday, March 18, from 3:30–5:00 PM, recognizing the outstanding achievements of participating artists.

Visitors will discover paintings, mixed media works, and tactile art that invite audiences to explore the stories behind each piece. The exhibition reflects resilience, imagination, and the power of creative expression.

Bring your family, invite a friend, and celebrate these extraordinary young artists.
