Marguerite Smith Bio

Marguerite Smith and husband, Glenn, reside in Magnolia, MS. After retiring from the garment industry, I found the time to develop my passion for visual arts. I began studying under Beverly Dick who was instrumental in encouraging me to make my art known. I have made a practice of attending workshops to enhance my knowledge. My favorite medium is Oils. A second choice is Watercolor. My topics vary. However, realism is my art style. It has been my fortune to win several juried art show awards. My art can be viewed at the well known Gulf South Art Gallery in McComb, MS. Other pieces can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the South. I currently serve as President of the Southwest MS Art Guild and as Board member of the Pike County Arts Council.

Wilfred Dick Bio

Wilfred Dick…Artist Hands in Mud. My first interest in art came as an Eagle Scout while working on merit badges for pottery, wood carving, sculpture and art. I earned all four badges and still have them. At retirement age 59, with a great deal of push from my wife, Beverly (an accomplished artist and art teacher who signed me up for a Pottery class at a local Jr. College), came a couple of art classes in college. I was then hooked. I proceeded to Baton Rouge, LA. where I took Sculpture classes. A demand for pottery classes turned up and I became the teacher for almost 6 years. My work has been awarded a number of ribbons for 1st place, 2nd place and Best in Show. I have items as decorations, along with my wife’s Prints, all over our home. My work has been entered in local juried art shows and sales. It is on display at Gulf South Art Gallery in McComb, MS.
