A Community Celebration of Talladega's 175 Year History
On March 27, 2010 the City of Talladega will celebrate its illustrious history with a week of wonderful events and exciting activities. The Heritage Hall Museum will contribute to the festivities by presenting an art show on the lawn surrounding the museum on Saturday March 27th from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
We will be presenting an array of different art forms in an effort to demonstrate the diversity of the region. Art forms presented will be contemporary painting, traditional pottery, sculpture, folk art, self taught art and contemporary crafts. Also during the event, there will be a large hands-on art area for children and adults alike.
Inside the museum will be a collection of original oil paintings by the late Frances Upchurch showcasing the dynamic architecture of Talladega. In the main galleries, we will present an exhibition produced by our staff that explains the colorful Indian and Pioneer history of our region.
